By completing the registration process, you agree that you have read, understood and agree to all of the policies detailed below. You further agree that you will complete and check the agreement box for the waiver that is sent to you for registration before the start of your first class or session.

Training & equipment: We use positive reinforcement methods only. We do not use negative training methods (anything that could cause the dog fear or pain). The equipment we use in our sessions is an important part of this philosophy. As such we do not allow any aversive training equipment in our sessions, including choke chains, prong collars and shock collars.

Conflicting training: Training and behavior modification require consistency, clarity and patience. As such, during the duration of the training program with us clients agree that they will not work with any other trainers other than those specifically referred to them by Drop the Leash Dog Training & Behavior Consulting. Conflicting information and advice leads to confusion and no results.

Registration, Fees & Payment: Registration form and waiver must be completed and signed before any training commences. Payment is due in full upon registration online. We accept PayPal or credit cards. NSF payments are subject to a $29 fee. Please check your calendars carefully as once payment has been received, classes and sessions are non-refundable. Please note that class dates are not transferable. Because of ongoing enrollment you will be slotted into the first available spot and we are unable to push back or hold class dates for dates longer than 1 week past the first available start date.

Training Program: Our training programs must be used within their individualized time line. Sessions are done once a week. There is a one week emergency reschedule period. Sessions not used within this time limit period are not refundable and will be forfeit.

Missed Classes/Cancellations: While we understand that life happens we are unable to offer make up classes for missed classes however you will receive the homework for the class you missed. Should you miss 2 consecutive classes without advising us of your absence homework will stop being sent and your spot shall be forfeit and filled by another student.

To maintain a high level of service, we are unable to offer a credit within 48 hours of your session. Cancellations in advance of 48 hours will be credited towards a future session, but no refunds will be offered. In the case of cancellation on the part of Drop the Leash Dog Training & Behavior Consulting, clients will be contacted by phone and/or email and the session will be rescheduled. No-shows or late cancellations will not be refunded or credited.

Dogs: Dogs must remain on leash at all times, unless specifically instructed otherwise. All behavioral concerns must be disclosed in writing prior to the commencement of training. Proof of positive titers or up to date vaccinations to be provided upon request.

For the safety of everyone involved, all dogs must remain on leash at all times, unless otherwise instructed to do so in the classroom. All dogs must remain on leash at all times on the training premises. Please do not allow your dogs to greet each other while on the premises or in the class, unless permission has been granted. Some dogs are not comfortable being approached while on leash and we have dogs with different reactivity levels working with our trainer. Please respect their space.

We share the common area of our training center with our private residence. Please be respectful of them, and do not allow your dog to relieve themselves on common property or buildings. For this reason and also for the health of all dogs, please pick up after your dog.

Health & Temperament: Because class set ups involve close contact of the dogs, any dogs who are sick, or recovering from an illness are not permitted to attend classes.

Please let us know if your dog is not spayed or neutered, as we may need to take certain steps to ensure their safety. Female dogs in heat are not permitted to attend classes.

We accept titer tests in lieu of yearly vaccines. Please contact us if you would like to know what a titer test is and where to have it done, or if you are choosing not to vaccinate your puppy and are wanting to take classes.

If your dog has a bite history, this must be disclosed at time of registration. Dogs with a bite history are not automatically excluded from classes but we do need to have a conversation around it to make sure we are keeping your dog, you and everyone else safe.

We reserve the right to, at our sole discretion, not allow dogs to continue with classes should we deem it necessary for any reason.

Client responsibility: Clients are solely responsible for their dog's actions and behaviors at all times. By registering for our training sessions and classes you are agreeing to this and agreeing that you assume full legal, moral, and financial responsibility for all actions and behaviors of your dog and agree to assume all risks involved.

Children: Children are welcome in classes and sessions, as they are a part of the family and play an important role, however children under 10 must be supervised by an adult, who is NOT the primary handler for the dog. (Each dog must have a dedicated and focused handler). Children are welcome to be the dedicated handler for the dog, when supervised by an adult. Children are not permitted to approach or touch other dogs in the class without permission. Some dogs are fearful of and uncomfortable around children. Please respect their space.

Photograph & Video Release: Photographs and/or video footage may occasionally be taken of dogs during training and/or other related activities. Clients give permission for any resulting photographs or video containing images of their dogs to be used for advertising, educational material, or promotional purposes.

Consulting: Consulting and opinions given by Drop the Leash Dog Training & Behavior Consulting, its owners and employees, on services outside of its core services (i.e. diet and nutrition, vaccines) are given on a purely personal opinion and experience basis and not as a professional consult. For any health concerns please consult your vet. We are happy to refer you to a veterinarian should you require.
